NBC Cancels "The Paul Reiser Show"

    http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2...w-356312/9235/

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- As expected, NBC has pulled the plug on "The Paul Reiser Show" after two low-rated outings. Repeats of "The Office" will fill the Thursday, 8:30/7:30c slot for the remaining four weeks of the season, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
Last night's episode of "Reiser" drew 2.377 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49, down from its already modest opener on April 14 (3.372 million viewers, 1.1 rating among adults 18-49).

A mid-season new series starting in january or february? Fine, easy to follow.

But a new show premiering in mid-april? That's difficult.

The title "The ___ Show" is a typical name for a talk show: The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Nate Berkus Show, The tonight show with David Letterman... you get the point. Or The ___ Show is also used for a reality show where they follow a known personnality into their real life. Expecting some unknown name's talk show or reality show at 8:30pm? No thanks.

And to make things worse, it's on NBC. Have we forget the Jay Leno show weeknights at 10pm last season?

The Drew Carey show premiered 13 September 1995 in the US, not in april.
