Disney XD (Canada) coming to Rogers first!!!!

It appears Disney XD will be coming to the following provinces on Rogers cable on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.....Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland http://www.disneyxd.ca/schedule/findus.php My guess it Telus will pick this up real soon!


I have it!!!! Can't wait!!!! It's launching with a HD feed as well as an On-Demand platform! Watch for the channel to launch in Nova Scotia and PEI on Rogers !

Disney XD is launching into our great country tomorrow. Coming to Rogers cable first in the provinces of Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Ontario. Happy to live in Newfoundland! Look for the channel to launch on other providers in the coming months!

Disney XD is a Canadian English language category 2 digital cable specialty channel. It is wholly owned by Astral Media. The channel is set to launch on June 1, 2011[1] in both standard and high definition, as well as a video on demand platform.[2]
As with its counterparts in the U.S. and elsewhere, Disney XD will consist of live-action and animated programming for kids aged 6-14, in particular, aimed at boys. Unlike similar sister-channels, Family and its multiplex channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD will be an ad-supported channel.[1]

History

In April 2009, Astral Media, through a subsidiary The Family Channel Inc., was granted approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to launch Family Extreme.[3]
On March 11, 2011 Astral announced it would launch Disney XD on June 1, 2011, using the Family Extreme licence.[1
