The CW flops, makes schedule changes

You think that The CW would do better than The WB did, um WRONG. Almost every show on The CW is down from last year, the ratings are just pure awful and already shows are changing slots.

    Sundays as of October 9th
7:00PM: America's Next Top Model Reruns (NEW TIME)
    8:00PM: 7th Heaven (NEW DAY)
    9:00PM: Runaway (NEW DAY)

    Mondays as of October 10th
8:00PM: Everybody Hates Chris (NEW DAY & TIME)
8:30PM: All of Us (NEW DAY & TIME)
9:00PM: Girlfriends (NEW DAY & TIME)
9:30PM: The Game (NEW DAY & TIME)

It is unclear what A Channel will do now that 7th Heaven has moved.

well i took the time to look it up no one said it flopped its not as bad as you made it seem I guess they just wanted to switch the blocks because UPN usally had black comedies on Monday and maybe they thought 7th Heven would have been better on sunday (isnt that religous show church=sunday)and i found this at wikipedia to back up that it didint do so bad:

The CW made its official debut on September 20, 2006 with the seventh cycle premiere of America's Next Top Model. Top Model saw a ten percent increase in viewership from the same time the previous year. It was Wednesday's number one network in its target demos, adults 18-34 and women 18-34, and was the 4th most watched network that night, beating FOX. On September 22, The CW again ranked fourth, tying FOX [11], a status UPN and the WB were never able to reach.
That distinction came on the strength of the debut of WWE Friday Night SmackDown! The two-hour show finished second for the night in the target demo of men 18-34 (1.9/8) in the Nielsen overnight ratings. SmackDown! also beat Fox in adults 18-34 (1.4/6) and in total viewers (3.7 million).
The second week premieres did as follows:
    • Monday, September 25: 7th Heaven averaged 4.36 million viewers, while the number dropped to about 2.35 million for the series debut of Runaway.
    • Tuesday, September 26: The season premiere of Gilmore Girls averaged 4.5 million viewers.[12]
    • Wednesday, September 27: One Tree Hills fourth season premiered to 3.64 milion viewers and had the best retention rate to date of any program following Top Model.[2]
    • Thursday, September 28: Smallville averaged 5.04 million viewers, followed by an average of 3.81 million for Supernatural. [3]
The third week premieres did as follows:
    • Sunday, October 1: It was an up-and-down night for the premieres of the block of African-American sitcoms. Everybody Hates Chris led off the night with an average of 2.49 million viewers, but that number dropped to 1.55 million for All of Us. However, the block rebounded when Girlfriends averaged 2.64 million viewers, and The Game, a spin-off of Girlfriends, retained nearly all the previous show's viewers.
    • Tuesday, October 3: The third season premiere of Veronica Mars averaged 3.27 million viewers.

7th Heaven is down from last year though when it aired on The WB, down about 30%
Runaway did over 30% worse than last years cancelled Just Legal on The WB
Gilmore Girls was down over 25% from last year on The WB
Veronica Mars was down from last seasons premiere on UPN
Smallville was down from last seasons premiere on The WB
Supernatural was down from last seasons premiere on The WB
Everybody Hates Chris was down over 67% from last years premiere on UPN
All of Us was down from last years premiere on UPN
Girlfriends was down from last years premiere on UPN
The Game did worse than last year's Half and Half which UPN cancelled.

So far the only shows that are up are America's Next Top Model and WWE Smackdown, everything else is down even though they have more local stations and advertising.

Also as for One Tree Hill, it did good last week however last night didn't even hold 50% of America's Next Top Model, and Veronica Mars did better last year in the same slot.

All the shows were suspose to go up, not down. Also The CW spent over $50 Million Dollars on advertising.

The CW is beating MyNetworkTV however it's not like The CW is happy, they are shocked that they are down.

I can't believe they are doing so bad though, it seems that it would naturally do better though since there are much more affiliates, the marketing they put into it, and so on...

As for MyNetworkTV, its no surprise to me whatsoever why it's doing so badly, I mean we have the WNYO affiliate on digital cable here and it looks like a schedule of an independant station not a so called major network.

btw... I should probably add this question to another forum topic but.... I was wondering why do I get the MyNetworkTV affiliate, WNYO on digitval cable? I ask this because I've looked at the list of eligible foreign channels allowed to be distributed in Canada and I didn't see WNYO listed there.... I know that a station could air in Canada and not be listed in the list because it airs OTA, but its not on analogue, its on digital... anyone know the answer to this...?

    Websites such as Variety ect...

The CW is a complete mess right now, like they charged more for commericals this year thinking they would go up or stay the same, for the most part they are down, now they have to give advertisers their money back or give them free ads.

The news for the CW has actually been kind of mixed so far; they started off down quite a bit, yeah, but their ratings have been picking up as the season goes on. And they've managed on occasion to tie or even beat out one of the mainstream networks for fourth place out of five on a given night, something neither the WB or UPN ever managed.

So no, it hasn't all been good news...but neither has it been an unmitigated disaster, either.
