TSN 2 launched on December 9th in SD on 61 and in HD on 681.
GolTV moved from 61 to 58.

The HD position is ridiculous.
On original Illico lineup in september 2001, Rogers Sportsnet East was on 61 and the HD version was 661. Some years later, Vidéotron started offering all 4 Sportsnet in SD and moved 61 to 81 and added 82-83-84, but the HD position remained.
Sometime, they'll need to swap 661 and 681 in order to make sense.

Playhouse Disney Canada to Launch on Vidéotron

Vidéotron has added APTN HD. Not sure on the exact channel number though.

BTW, anyone hear of The Accessible Channel HD (TACtv) coming to Vidéotron? On TACtv's website, it says channel 627, but I haven't seen anything on Vidéotron's website saying it's there or heard of anything about it actually coming.

Weird. TACtv doesn't even broadcast in HD in the first place. Vidéotron was the last provider to offer TACtv (march 18th 2009), I don't see why they would be the first HD carrier...

Zeste, the new french channel for food, has been added to Videotron this morning. It is actually the promotional tape in loop until the official launch on march 22nd.

Zeste HD is on channel 647, and the SD version on channel 047.

The promo loop for Yoopa (only 45 seconds in lenght) was added this morning on channel 629 (HD) and 029 (SD).

Indigo barker channel at 029 moved to channel 048.

Avis De Recherche at 046 moved to channel 049.

Vidéotron added 2 new channels this morning:

- Al-Jazeera English on channel 173, which was simultaneously added on BellTV and Rogers. Free preview for the next 2 or 3 months.
- TFO HD on channel 694, which was already available on BellTV and Rogers. You need to be subscribed to Franco, Telemax, Mega, or part of your Sur Mesure choices to access it.

Both channels are NOT yet available in Gatineau and Clarence-Rockland areas.

I would say WTF about adding this channel, a fishing network...was there really demand for it? ANd why use a prime spot on the grid as 57 when there are free space in the sports channel area in the 110's...

They are probably getting the channel for next to nothing for that. There are a lot of other SD channel that could be added before that one no? Anyway, we don't really have a say in this anyway.

Yup. Actually, when you think about it, if Cablevision Du Nord in Abitibi area carries that channel, Videotron looks ridiculous not carrying it. It's about time they add new services.

Good question! Channel 115 is probably reserved in case Peachtree comes back someday somehow, but channel 118 was CanWest's X-Treme Sports which is dead and buried, and channel 119 Fox Sport World is probably shutting down in october.

Using channel 57 for the new channel makes it clear that they won't intend to add any of the digital subchannels like the CW (WFFF-DT2), ThisTV (WPTZ-DT2), WCAXtra (WCAX-DT2), RTV (WNMN-DT) or PBS's Create and World... to the 56-59 positions.

They are probably getting the channel for next to nothing for that. There are a lot of other SD channel that could be added before that one no? Anyway, we don't really have a say in this anyway.

Absolutely! First one coming to mind is, following last sunday's Emmy awards, AMC would be a nice addition thanks to the awards given to Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Anyways, here's a list of missing channels on Videotron:

Off course, you need to be subscribed to the SD version in order to get the HD version.

NBA TV Canada and it's HD version were added this morning, channels 86 and 686, with a 3-months free preview.

NBA TV Canada is available in more than two million homes across Canada. Earlier Friday, Videotron announced that it will carry NBA TV Canada on three screens -- TV, Web and Mobile. Videotron Digital TV customers will be able to access NBA TV Canada in standard format on channel 86 and in HD on channel 686. A free preview will be offered for the next three months on illico TV, illico web and illico mobile.

I really don`t get that one. An NBA channel...how may fans does the NBA has in Quebec...At least they could have just have the SD chanenl and use the space for something like SHowcase HD.

I understood when they were prioritizing French channel for HD, but an NBA channel should have been way down on the list of any Sports or English channel...

Vanessa (french) has been discretely added this morning on channel 222 in SD only. Videotron elected to wait before launching the HD version, which is a shame. Channel launches at 10pm tonight, but nobody can watch the promo loop 'coz there's no free preview.
