Vidéotron's website actually says it costs $15.21 a month.
It also doesn't mention anything about it being available in HD. So anyone know what's the deal with this channel, did it launch in HD or not and is it available on any other BDU?
It's $14.99 + 1.5% for the LPIF.
Videotron opted to pass on the HD channel for now. No reason provided. See: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r248...peu-sur-Illico. (french)

Cosmopolitan TV Canada was added to Videotron's lineup, channel 87.

Playhouse Disney Télé added. Which is somewhat surprising since Quebecor owns Yoopa, which is the same type of channel targeting preschoolers.

Additions and changes on March 1st, 2011:
Playhouse Disney Télé - channel 46
Baby TV - channel 170
CNN HD - channel 662
Viva, channel 150, will become OWN
OWN HD will launch channel 655
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
While they are both aimed at preschoolers, the programming is quite different on each channel. Playhouse Disney airs mainstream programming from Disney while Yoopa has other children's programming, including some programming from Europe.Playhouse Disney Télé added. Which is somewhat surprising since Quebecor owns Yoopa, which is the same type of channel targeting preschoolers.
Videotron appears to be following Shaw's methodology in adding new channels to their lineup, namely being very selective in what they add and very slow to add new channels?!

Sure, the programming itself may be different, but they are still the same type of channel targeting the same audience. Which could adversely affect Yoopa depending on the packaging since neither channel airs commercials.
I'm glad they added the channel, but am just surprised that they did. Maybe the demand was high, who knows.
WPCH-TV (Peachtree) Atlanta and TCM (Turner Classic Movies) were added this morning at respective position 218 and 219 in SD only.
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.

- Mlle, a new cat 2 specialty from Quebecor, was added to the lineup on April 27 2011 on channel 91 (SD) and 691 (HD). The promotional tape is running in loop, the channel officially launches May 2nd early morning.

Videotron added these services on basic this morning:
- CBC News Nework HD (618)
- The Shopping Channel (23)
- Galaxie FrancoFolies (546) until August 2nd.
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
The Shopping Channel, really? Was there a big demand for it? I am sure is it an arrngement with Rogers (who owns it). Why not add AMC for example. I would love all those additional HD net (Showcase, AMC, Superchannel, ect) But if I could at least watch those AMC shows in SD it would be better than nothing.
TSc was only available in Montreal-West on analog cable as a place-holder for interference channel 6. After the OTA analog shutdown on August 31, channel 6 will become interference-free so Vidéotron could in theory move a more interesting channel there. It was just a matter of time before TSc had to be added to the digital lineup.
I would also love to see more english HD channels to the lineup, but everything depends on 1) Fiber-to-the-neighbourhood, which will increase the network capacity to 860Mhz, 2) SDV deployment, which is in progress, 3) removal of analog Telemax, progressively.
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
