Ehh remember last year when they said that joining The WB and UPN would be a great idea for both networks? Um nope not so much.
Most shows on The CW are down atleast 20% from last year, and this is with more local stations and advertising. Even worse The CW is doing worse than The WB did in Adults 18-34, the demo that the network is going after. Only 2 shows are up from last season, both of which aired on UPN.
With every show down from last year you think atleast the new shows will do well, nope! Runaway the new drama got UNDER 2 million viewers, most shows on cable get more on that!
The CW already tried to save some of their shows with a schedule change that swapped 2 nights, however that didn't work, both shows still got awful ratings.
Anywho, Runaway the new drama (and the only new drama on the network) has now been cancelled, The CW will fill Runaway's Sunday at 9:00PM slot with reruns.
Runaway started out on The CW Mondays at 9:00PM only it did so bad in that slot it was moved.
Runaway is the second show to be offically cancelled this season, with the first one being the CBS drama Smith. Funny because both shows are produced by CBS and air on CBS owned stations.
By the way Global TV had the rights to air Runaway, however they never aired it and now that it's cancelled I really can't see them airing it. Not really sure why Global picked up Runaway, they never had plans to air it anyway, maybe just so CHUM could not pick it up?
Anywho Runaway kinda reminds me of Sex Love and Secrets which aired on UPN last year and got awful ratings and was cancelled after 4 episodes (by the way Global also had the rights to that show and aired 2 episodes on CH before pulling it)
