Melissa George is the Queen of the cancelled TV series, but she'll be back!
Even though I've still only seen the first episode of Hunted, I'm now fascinated by Melissa George. There's so much more to her than meets the eye. She's an inventor and now makes more money from her recent patent than from all her acting gigs combined. Keep in mind that Melissa George was already jokingly referred to as the richest non-working actress in Hollywood because all of her early pilots would get cancelled, but she'd still get paid. She was even asked by Simon Cowell to come to America and become a pop star, even though she told him that she couldn't sing to save her life. I watched her roller skate (apparently she's some kind of champ at that too) on youtube (The Jonathan Ross Show) and demonstrate her clip invention.
As for Hunted, the BBC cancelled it due to dwindling ratings (but Cinemax is thinking about bringing it back with Melissa George, but with a different slant and new title).
I got a kick out of reading the British comments trashing the series in various forums, and also how the BBC edited out some of the nudity, including her topless scene near the very beginning of the first episode, which I didn't know about until I streamed the Cinemax version today. There are also a few extra seconds of nudity in the second episode that aired on Cinemax (and I assume on HBO Canada) that were also cut out in the BBC version (prolonged topless scene and perhaps even more). Needless to say, I of course quickly downloaded the rest of the Cinemax versions (except for the final two Cinemax episodes which have yet to air), so as to be able to keep abreast of all the comings and goings of what is apparently a far too complicated plot to follow.
So, even though the BBC version of episode 2 that I peeked at, had some of the nudity that the Cinemax version had, it was still an edited version, designed for the partial OTA TV viewing audience in the UK.
Even though Hunted airs at 9 pm in the UK (a time when nudity is allowed), the Brits still have to be careful to not offend its citizens with too much free sex. There was a big uproar when some extra skin was shown in one of the Sherlock TV movies that aired over there BEFORE the 9pm watershed hour (safe zone for more "adult" content). It was harmless stuff, but many of the Brits watching, worried about the children seeing such "trashy" content.

Once the Brits realized what was going on with the edited nudity in the BBC version of Hunted, the remaining viewers of an all ready confused and bored audience (one guy called the show "The Bored Identity") ignored the BBC version and either watched the Cinemax version via the Internet, or quit watching the series altogether.
