Whose Line Is It Anyways? - Any Canadian broadcaster picked this up?

As the title states, has a Canadian broadcaster picked this up from The CW, and secondly, and most importantly, are they streaming episodes online?

I don't know if or when any of our Canadian broadcasters will pick it up, but since the CW website isn't geo-blocking Canadians for this series, you can stream the episodes online from the CW website ... TV NOW ... TV NOW ... TV NOW ... sorry, I can't get that "song" outta my head!

That would be fantastic news, but The CW website videos are not working for me. Not that it says "not available in your region" or anything like that, but the videos will physically not play at all. Not sure why this is happening. It doesn't warn me I need some sort of plugin or anything and all other sites the videos work, just not there.

Actually, they have the geo-block ON, but if I keep refreshing the page, clicking buttons and waiting, I can sometimes get all 3 episodes to appear in the video boxes, and then play them. However, at this very moment, I can only stream the 2nd episode (it's the only one that has its image in the video box).

Okay, as I type this post I'm fooling around with the CW website and I got all three episodes to stream (still as a Canadian) by opening up a 2nd Chrome tab/window, but then after I paused and came back to resume the videos, they went black and died.

So, it's obviously just a rare occurrence to get the CW streams to play as a Canadian (unless you use simple browser extensions, VPNs or DNS trickery), but it's not impossible ... assuming that you don't mind wasting your time trying to get lucky.

I can't seem to get the CW website to let me stream as a Canadian again, even though I've been fooling around with the site for quite a while.

I can only stream as a fake American at the moment.

I'm proud to be a fake American, but I assume that one of the Canadian channels will eventually pick up the series for patriotic Canadians to view.

Sorry for getting your hopes up, but the various browser extensions and other legal trickery make it unnecessary to wait for Canada to catch up to the Americans.

    Bloody border patrol!

@musimax: I hope this will put a smile on your face and teach The CW a lesson for messing with crafty Canadians.

I'm also hoping that this simple solution works for you and that nobody tries to interfere with our cross-border streaming of this series.

There's a website that specializes in streaming ALL of the Whose Line episodes, INCLUDING the CW's version.

The website appears to work for Canadians (unless something really weird is going on, again), and since it only has the Whose Line episodes and just lets you stream them, I think it's about as close to legal as you can get, all without the need for any trickery or extra Google searches:

Thanks for finding that site. It works perfectly, no ads or anything! But it's still strange though how no Canadian broadcaster has picked it up. Not even City (which fits well with their comedy lineup) or even a smaller group like CHCH or CHEK. This was a hit back in the day. Even the CBC jumped on the improv bandwagon with their own improv show (which bombed). It's just weird how someone will pick up dumb ass shows like Oh Sit! (on Much) but not this show. That's Canadian TV for ya.

Icon3 Cross-border streaming is fun for the whole family!

I thought Whose Line would bomb on The CW, but the initial ratings are very good. Surprise, surprise.

I would be even more surprised if Whose Line isn't eventually picked up by a Canadian broadcaster.

That cool Whose Line website is even mentioned on a fan's Facebook page dealing strictly with Whose Line Is It Anyway?

And now it's time for a game of ... In Case You Missed It:

This has been mentioned before on many websites, but since geo-blocking is a necessary evil of the streaming world, it's probably a good idea to provide another important link for unpatriotic or frustrated Canadians:

Icon7 Fun and Games --> Slide Show TV series: A Canadian version is planned

For fans of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Thank God You're Here!, Hollywood Game Night, and a host of other game-type shows, there's another TV series that you might also enjoy.

This one's called Slide Show, and there are certainly very funny portions (the sliding falls are fun to watch, but I imagine that they might become tiresome after a few episodes) scattered throughout the 43-minute (without commercials) Australian version (based on a French series), so it's definitely worth a look (I've provided a temporary link for Australia's first episode, below):

[Slide Show info and YouTube clip of French version]

To be produced by Shine, Slide Show is based on a French format called Vendredi Tout est Permis Avec Arthur and sees teams of personalities competing in parlour games, culminating in a scene with a set built on a steep angle. The show has already been adapted in Portugal with plans for versions in China, Canada, Lebanon and Denmark.

[Review of Slide Show's first episode]

If only the contestants had spent the whole hour sliding around on those slanted floors. At 22.5 degrees, "specifically and scientifically the angle at which a human being can only just stand up", there was just enough leeway for the comics to keep their heads but enough stress to ensure they were puffing through the whole ordeal.

The show has been quietly picked up in Canada by Blue Ant Media's Bite channel, which has apparently started airing episodes as of this month. Yes, I only found this out as I was browsing the listings; these are the episodes that aired last summer on the CW. Meanwhile, the new season begins Friday, March 21 at 8:00pm on The CW.

Somewhat surprising that this show ended up being passed over by the major Canadian networks and specialty channels. I thought this would have at least ended up on one of the Much channels.
