Deja View vs Comedy Gold

It seems we are seeing two indentical networks...one owned by Shaw media...the other Bell media...Deja View and comedy Gold...both airing retro comedies...one that airs cheesy Due south reruns which is not Comedy and the other that is all Classic comedy!!!

Deja View...the Home of shows like All in the Family, Three's Company, The Jeffersons, The Golden Girls and M*A*S*H and now direct from the now gone TV Tropolis which changed today to D Tour...Everybody loves raymond and Drew Carey...and still Deja View won't lay off on the Three's Company and All in the family reruns!!! And now they are adding Cheesy reruns of Due South...Oh please like come on better Reruns Please and Deja view doesn't act a Rerun Channel and the logo needs an uplift as well!!!

Comedy Gold...Formerly TV land The Home of The not so Super Dave osbourne show and still Night court, Fresh prince, Full House, Bob Newhart and Newhart reruns and adding on Wings and Growing Pains...and deleting SCTV and moving One Day at a Time over to Book television!!!

It almost seems like 2 networks facing off with their Retro Comedies than anything else...is any well worth subscribing anymore and does either bell or shaw care how they run their channels!!! Go Figure!!!

I'm removing Dejaview from my lineup. Now they've taken Perfect Strangers off the schedule, and it has not been on their schedule for at least a full year. Also like many of their sitcoms, they didn't get the rights to all eight seasons of the series, only the first four which they kept repeating over and over. My guess is because Dejaview's terms of having the show on its schedule are under the same terms as when Global had it in its original run, or some condition they have with the production studio that currently owns the show in its library. For seasons 6 and 7, I recall CTV picking it up for Canadian broadcast except for the final eighth season.

It took twelve years for them to finally add it to their schedule and that was all they could show? While it may be better than nothing, it's still a disappointment. I would not hold my breath for it to be added to Comedy Gold anytime soon. Although if they do, maybe it might be what Dejaview did not show this whole time.

The Hallmark Channel content is scattered across several Canadian channels including CTS, W Network, TMN, etc.

Hallmark certainly gets around, but yes, we should have most of its content on one dedicated channel.

DejaView reallys needs an uplift.. new logo and new name please!! DejaView just sounds cheesy and unappealing.. Here are my suggestions for them:

Max TV.
TVLand Canada.
CRN (Canadian Retro Network).

TVLand Canada actually already existed via a licensing agreement with Viacom back in 2001 until 2010 when it was re-branded to Comedy Gold. At that time, there was also competition in the classic TV genre from TV Tropolis which was previously known as Prime. However, now that TV Tropolis changed formats to lifestyle programming under the DTour brand, I believe there might be a more viable business case for one of the remaining two players in the classic tv genre in Canada to remarket themselves in order to gain some of the ex-TV Tropolis viewers.
