False. Old antennas still work. So, if you already have a rooftop antenna, use it.
In Quebec City, you'll get SRC, TVA, V, TQc and Global. Some from the Mont Bélair, TVA from Myrand street transmitter, and the others from Édifice Marie-Guyart (Complexe G). Depending on your physical location, you'll either need to point to one central direction for all 5 channels, or you're stuck in the middle.
Your TV set must be in AIR mode before scanning. Check your manual or here: http://www.manualowl.com/m/Samsung/P.../Manual/192599
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
