    19-2 Bravo.ca

    Help!!!

I missed an episode of 19-2 called "Home", and when I tried to watch it online, I keep getting the following message.

    Sorry, the video you have
    selected is not available for
    viewing outside of Canada.

Since I live in Canada, I don't know why I would be receiving this message. How do I work around/fix it?

If you're using a browser extension to watch US or other foreign content online (while in Canada), simply disable it while you are trying to view content on some Canadian websites.

For example, if you're using the Chrome browser, simply click the three horizontal lines icon that's located at the top right corner of the Chrome browser (in the same line as the URL address window). Once you've clicked that icon, just hover your mouse pointer over the TOOLS option and then another menu of choices will immediately appear; simply click the EXTENSIONS option and then you'll see the various extensions that your Chrome browser is using or could use if you enable them. Now just look for your extension(s) that are enabled which allow you to watch foreign content, and then just click the box(es) with the check mark in it to then disable that extension. Wait a few seconds until your browser knows it's Canadian again, and then refresh the Bravo page, or simply open another tab and go to the same Bravo page to now view the content (and then close the previous Bravo page tab).

Happy birthday, your browser is now Canadian again (even though your previous enabled browser extension(s) still might not block your Canadian IP address from the what is my IP address websites, the Bravo website, CBC website, etc.).

To change your browser back to a foreigner, simply repeat the steps, but this time you will obviously be enabling the browser extension that can mask your Canadian IP address from some of the dumber websites.

Just FYI, Avonregal : The section "OTA Channels" is about Over-The-Air Channels, those you receive with an antenna. Your topic is best suited in the "Other ways to watch TV" as Bravo is not an OTA channel and your question is about online viewing...

What are the instructions if you don't have Chrome browser. I am using the public library's computer and they have Internet Explorer.

In that case, go to a staff member and show them that you can't stream from a Canadian website.

Hopefully, somebody will eventually fix or change the proxy and or the IE browser (might need updating), so that the website sees you as a Canadian.

That's a really bizarre situation that I never imagined could happen while using a library computer.

Actually, I don't even see that episode of 19-2 on the Brava.ca website. I assumed you were using the Bravo website, but if not, it could be that there's something wrong with the link you're using. You could always send it to me (as a PM) and I can check to see if I can get it to work. If I can't get it to work, you certainly won't be able to get it to work at the library.

Here's a working 19-2 link (but a different episode) from the Bravo website:

    http://www.bravo.ca/video/player?vid=311341
    [19-2 Islands]

If you can get the above episode to work, there's probably nothing that needs to be changed on the library computers.

Here is the link for "Home":

    http://www.bravo.ca/video/player?vid=297259

It doesn't work for me anymore. I think Bravo only keeps the last four episodes available for streaming.

I used a friends computer and was able to watch another episode of the show but not "Home". I experience similar problems when I try to view TV shows on CTV.ca from work. Maybe they are blocking the channel?

Thank you all for your help. I guess I will have to wait until the re-run.

CTV.ca gets many complaints from various viewers of the website, and I often have to disable the pepperflash portion of the adobe flash player (when using the Chrome browser) to get some of the CTV videos to play (like for Believe). However, with some of the other CTV videos, like the ones for Spun Out, I don't have to make any adjustments and can even leave my adblock programs enabled to block the Spun Out commercials. CTV.ca is an odd website.

Here's the 19-2, 5th episode (Home) from another source (click the free user box and perhaps use ad-block programs for quicker and easier access):

    PokerFace,

I got this far and this is what happened.

    Developer mode

Boo... You have no extensions :-( Want to browse the gallery instead?

When I clicked on "browse the gallery" it took me to a site to select APP's not extensions.

Sorry, I don't know how to reply with quote so I copy the entire comment.

The apps or extensions are the same thing. Chrome's page after you add the apps, simply calls them extensions on the PC.

For newbies especially, it's best to add one or more adblock apps or extensions (from the gallery- like ADBlock or ADBlock Plus -- though since they can slow your browsing a bit, you can always deactivate them via Chrome's browser tools/ extensions page when you're done streaming) to protect you from bad clicks -- those incorrect clicks will usually just be ignored and then you just click again, or click elsewhere until the stream begins. It can be frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's just as easy as using an official site's stream.
