    Videotron launching 4K UHD DVR illico Terminal, Channel

    Videotron is launching 4K UHD illico Samsung termimal this august and will have UHD Stringray Ambiance Channel and a part time UHD program channel this fall with shows from different network who has an UHD version. Think teh beginning of HD. Also on demande UHD content.

    TVA already has a docu-series on firefighter planned for September which will be on this channel.

    Just a beginning, but here we go!

    4 years later... There's the part-time TSN 4K channel, operating only when there's a live 4K show on, the two Sportsnet 4K channels (Ontario & One) were recently added and are operating 24/7 with upscale HD, and nobody seems to know when there's original 4K content on.

    Went to the on-demand channel 900, the 4K content is limited to mostly documentaries, some musical shows, and a couple of Club Illico originals.

    It's weird. Many production companies should have already start producing dramas and comedies in 4K, downscaled to HD for 1st run TV broadcast, while the 4K masters are kept for on-demand & syndication.
    We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
