    Motorsports streaming links

Weekly Canadian Race Fan TV listings (by George Webster through PRN magzine):

Weekly "Racing on TV" listings (for U.S.A., by Racer magazine):

Reddit thread where people request and list available live streams of motorsports:

Here is a list of links for sites known to provide free live streaming of motorsports events.
I've stuck mostly to the official and legitimate free ones, while avoiding the not-so-legit ones and ones that are official/legit but require a paid subscription (for individual series like Moto GP, FIM WSBK, FIA WRC, Australian (V8) Supercars, World of Outlaws, USAC or general racing-oriented pay-walled sites such as,,,, and
Since this board allows posts to be edited indefinitely, I will hopefully attempt to keep it somewhat up-to-date by occasionally adding, subtracting, or making changes to the list.
If you can find a track schedule online for a race weekend at an event in another part of the world and you want to make sure when something starts in your local time, you can use an online time zone converter by entering the closest city to you and to the track.

I have reorganized the list for the start of the 2017 racing season, hopefully making it a little easier to use, and updated a few things I know to have changed since 2016.

I should probably point out that some of those links for streaming may not necessarily work for every type of mobile device and/or streaming box.
After my old lap top finally gave up, I replaced it with a new mini-PC (just a small box, no screen or keyboard of its own) that sits permanently on a TV-stand shelf under my TV and is controlled with a remote keyboard. As far as I know most PCs I've seen easily connect to TVs with an HDMI cable.
Even though I no longer subscribe to their TV service, I still also have the Vmedia streaming box there too (I still use their internet), which I will sometimes use for streaming some of the things it can receive, usually when there's two or more live things happening at the same time and I can use the TV's picture-in-picture to simultaneously view both. I may have gotten one of the last TVs made with that feature, and I think you may now have to search Amazon or elsewhere to find an entirely separate box to provide picture-in-picture, though I guess most people today would rather use a mobile device to monitor a second thing instead of having them both on the same TV screen.
The Apple mobile device I have can also be connected to the TV in a similar manner with the correct adapter for the HDMI cable, (or of course also carried around a home with wi-fi), and I will add that my adapter has worked well when I've used it at home and at friends and relatives homes, despite all the complaints from reviewers on the Apple website. It seems to be capable of viewing some streams the Vmedia box can't, but not everything that the computer can.

What had been the the FIA WTCC and the TCR International Series have now apparently merged (or something like that) to become the new FIA World Touring Car Cup, yet designate themselves as FIA WTCR. You can read this to try to figure out what is freely available.

The Formula V8 3.5 series has folded.

Formula One now has an online paid subscription service, but it appears the live video of the actual F1 sessions is only available in a few countries, with Canada not being one of them.

Live streaming of 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship "super season", which includes both the 2018 and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans (before the shift to a winter schedule for 2019-20) will not be available to Canadians and Americans who purchase the FIA WEC app, as it has been in recent years, because of the new TV rights deal made with Velocity/Motor Trend.

I updated some things that have changed in 2019.
    - The new NBC/NBCSN TV deal in the U.S. for IndyCar seems to have removed even the practice sessions from YouTube, but the "Road To Indy" support series are still there.
    - The new TV contract in Canada for IMSA with Discovery Velocity means the main headline race is no longer streamed live on the series website here in Canada, though the support series and qualifying are apparently still shown there. The name of the TV channel in Canada has remained as Discovery Velocity, despite the U.S. channel with that name having been rebranded as Motor Trend in November 2018. NBCSN is now the American TV broadcaster for IMSA. (2021 Edit - IMSA website did return to having main race available live in Canada, despite also being Discovery Velocity Canada).
    - The World-Challenge series had its first races of the year shown live on the GT World channel on YouTube, as it is now owned by the SRO along with the Intercontinental GT Challenge, and their other GT3 and GT4 series in Europe and Asia.
    - The SRO has one European GT4 series instead of separate Northern/Southern ones.
    - Similarly there is also one Formula Renault Eurocup series after the separate Northern series folded. (2021 Edit - series merged into Formula Regional European Championship)
    - With the former GP3 series that runs as support races on European F1 weekends now renamed as FIA Formula 3, the former FIA F3 European series has ceased to exist, while a new series for F3 cars, Formula Regional, based in Italy, began in 2019.
    - is still free, but now requires that you register and sign in. (2020 Edit: This site is apparently merging into NBCSN 'TrackPass' streaming site.)
    - It appears the NismoTV YouTube channel is no more, and the Japan Super GT races will no longer be freely available live. (2021 Edit- Super GT now on pay site Motorsport tv)
    - The Trans-Am series seems to have no TV or web coverage at all that I can find, as it was no longer on, while the series website and social media make no mention of any viewing possibilities. (2021 Edit - live streaming of Trans-Am series races is now available with a paid subscription on their app., and apparently the affiliated SVRA app similarly has US F4 and US Formula Regional races. Free live streaming will be on in 2022).

In the USA, the NBC Sports Network will be shut down at the end of 2021.
Supposedly, if things like IndyCar and IMSA remain with NBC and their outlets, they will be shown on NBC, USA Network, and streaming service Peacock, though apparently IndyCar's present deal ends after 2021 anyway, while IMSA and Nascar deals run through 2024.
The TV Home of NASCAR, IMSA and IndyCar is Shutting Down (
