Icon4 Question about the rules of this forum.

Why is it that I am not allowed to use profanity when there is no profanity filter? I mean, you guys don't allow profanity but I can list a slew of four-letter words without the board telling me that the word is not allowed or without the board censoring the word for me. Why is that?

GameFAQs has a profanity filter. Why doesn't this forum have one?

What if the profanity filter breaks?

    Testing 1,2,3 ... bleep bleep bleep !!!

Edit: I didn't get censored (so I edited out my profanity), is that what you mean?

If you can't post a reply using profanity, whats the point in that? You can always use the @&*# instead. Why do you need to use profanity any ways? Is that hard to just use plain word in a post with out being faulger?

There is a censoring option and it is activated but the list of words to block is... empty.
Since the forum came online, I'v never felt the need to add words there but the option exists.
Of course, we don't have nearly as much traffic as the forum you mentionned so that may be why we've gotten away without it. ;)
