ABC's Speechless (wed 8:30pm) conflicts with NBC's Blacklist, it's dumped to the friday night death slot along with The Middle in post-release... but Speechless is set for "Spring 2018". In the above-schedule, there's no mention of anything occupying that timeslot for the fall...
The Monday DWTS pickup was weird, but logic. This year, CTV & Global have sudden interest in sitcoms so City had nothing to simulcast (NBC's Voice to CTV, CW's Supergirl & Valor to Showcase, CBS's sitcoms to CTV & Global)...
I keep wondering why Rogers keeps playing the "our schedule is full" card. They could easily schedule Middle & Black-ish tuesdays 10pm & 10:30pm, Speechless wednesdays 9:30pm, and swap the shows in simulcast whenever the other-show-at-the-same-time are in reruns or pre-empted, just like CTV and Global does... most of the time... One of the nasty consequences of waiting for the right time for advertisers to pay maximum for a show on the air is obviously the episodes taken hostage, online, which is unacceptable in 2017 when you can find a selection of shows tomorrow morning on Netflix.
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
