Why isn't CityTV simsubbing today's Indy 500 ?
I think perhaps (initially at least) ABC's broadcast of the Indy 500 pre-race festivities was being simsubbed by CityTV, but then it stopped the simsub, and still at this very moment via Rogers Cable there is no simsub. Instead, the race is thankfully airing on City and ABC without the simsub. The actual race and perhaps all or at least 95% of the pre-show was not simsubbed. I know it's also airing on SN1 and SN360 (specialty channels), so perhaps that's why Rogers might not have bothered with a simsub. However, perhaps City was just unable to do the simsub properly, because for a while I noticed that their City bug in the bottom-right corner, was doubled, slightly askew on top of each other. And then later on it was fixed (to the single City, faint grey bug as usual).
Anyway, since ABC's little bug is more noticeable (it is solid and coloured), and there are some sports-results ticker interruptions at the bottom of the screen (thankfully not shown on City's feed), I'm watching the race on City (via Rogers or my antenna ... I can't get ABC's OTA broadcast today).
CityTV for the win! It doesn't happen often, but at least for auto racing (which is often the case), it was nice to have access to a less-cluttered version of the race (oddly on a Canadian channel).
Warning: I'm not playing with a full deck.
