Good news, Lucifer was finally renewed for a 4th season with 10 episodes. But it won't air on broadcast TV as it's been pickup by Netflix. Seasons 1 & 2 are currently available on CraveTV while S3 is accessible on CTV Go using a participating service provider login, while Hulu held the SVOD rights in the US.

So like it was expected, ABC picked up The Conners for Fall, in the Tuesday 8pm slot vacated by Roseanne's cancellation.

CTV picks it up in 3, 2, 1...

Only question is if it will stay be on CTV2 with The Kids are Alright or if it will be on the main network like Roseanne was going to be and The VOice on CTV2.
Maybe they will wait to see how big or not it will be once the obvious big premiere will be again. BUt the Premiere should be big just with people curious to see what Roseanne looks like without Roseanne.

You probably meant "The Kids are Alright" at 8:30pm s-ABC.

NBC already released their premiere dates, almost everything starts in the week of Sept 24 & 25, including Voice, and ABC fall season usually starts during that same week.
For Conners, it's do-able for a sitcom to apply set changes, write scripts, film and post-production for a premiere in 3 months. Is The Voice's tuesday episode after the premiere, important? Anyways, it depends on if Bell wants the premiere of "Kids" to be screened on the main CTV network, or if they'll prefer a pre-release of Conners at 7:30pm and keep their beloved TBBT filler at 8pm on CTV2.

For the sake of consistency, I think CTV would be willing to move Tuesday’s episode of The Voice back to CTV2 (only because they already have the Monday episodes scheduled there), and then use the main network to launch both The Conners and newcomer The Kids Are Alright. Seems more ideal to premiere all the new fall shows on CTV, considering they have the room now with this development. If this happens, CTV will have three nights of sitcoms in their schedule for the 8:00pm hour through Tuesdays and Thursdays, something we haven’t seen in a while and would have corresponded to their original plans.

If anything, the Big Bang fillers usually happen more for CTV and less so for CTV2, but upon announcing their fall schedule a couple of weeks ago, Bell had to make a switch following the Roseanne fallout. Having those fillers on the fall schedule for CTV2 was a low-risk approach, in the course of a worst-case scenario, where they did not have any other solid replacements.

It’s intriguing that Bell did not immediately pick up The Goldbergs spin-off Schooled. Either they did, but have chosen to keep it quiet for now, they will wait until midseason when a premiere date is announced, or they probably passed on it and let another Canadian network obtain the rights.

So it is confirmed. It took longer than expected, but the ownership of the show makes it more complicated they said on Deadline earlier this summer.

So The Conners will be on the main network with The Kids are Alright on Tuesdays at 8 & 8:30pm and The Voice is moving to CTV2 as we expected.

For the first three weeks of the season at least, it appears that the Tuesday episodes of The Voice will begin on CTV until the sitcoms premiere. So aside from the Monday episodes of The Voice and live NFL games on both Thursdays and Sundays, it will look to be fillers and reruns for the rest of the primetime lineup on CTV2 through mid-October.

I just want to know when CTV will air the season 12 premiere of TBBT? CBS decided to have two episodes that week and CTV will have The Resident at 8:00 on the 24th same time as TBBT. The past few seasons it's been on at 7:30 on Mondays because of other CTV programming.

I don't see the problem. Most over-the-air and cable PVR have 2 tuners, each Big Bang episodes of the new season are rerun 2 or 3 times by CBS/CTV before airing a 100 times in syndication on virtually any Bell-owned specialty channels, not to forget its free availability for the first 1 week on CTV Go...

As for Murdoch, CBC seems rerun the show quite often.

My parents live in a rural are where they rely on an antenna for TV. If Bell ever gets decent internet out their way then there won't be any issues in the future.

FWIW, as InMontreal mentioned, there are PVR-like things made specifically for recording over-the-air (antenna) TV channels. I had an earlier version of one something like this,
    http://www.amazon.ca/Mediasonic-Home...dp/B0797PQFZG/

until I gave it away a few months ago because I never used it anymore. I think it also requires an external hard drive to be connected for it to be able to record on its own. I assume "pass-through" means it would allow you to record one channel while watching a different channel on the TV's internal tuner, although I don't remember for certain.
I know something like this would be too difficult for my very technophobic mother to understand as she already has enough trouble getting confused by her TV remote control and would not use a PVR if she had one, but I think most people could probably understand and use it.

The PVR devices market for OTA is different from what cable can offer, but they exist.

    - Channel Master DVR+ (CM-7500) and Stream+ (CM-7600) are OTA terminals with an HDMI output, but you need to provide an external HDD for storage.
    - TiVo are on the market for years for OTA, but also supported by Cogeco and many US cable companies.
    - Tablo and HDHomeRun. Both aren't equiped with HDMI output. For storage, Tablo requires an external Hard Disk Drive, while the HDHR works with a NAS (Network Attached Storage). You configure them with a tablet and you can stream to a device such as AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Chromecast...
    - Other made-for-antenna PVR exists... Amazon can help.
    - Many HTPC (Home-Theater-PC) solutions also exist, including in Windows 10, using a capture card.

Most terminals requires an internet connection to download Guide data. Most (US) and many (Canada) TV Stations also broadcast 8-hours of guide data via their OTA transmitter via PSIP transmission. That's when you press "Info" on your remote.

This is odd... Above "Premiere Dates Announced" is missing the tuesday Sept 25 when This Is Us premieres. According to Zap2It...

    8pm The Voice
    9pm This Is Us
    10pm TBBT x2

On October 1st, CFCF drops the primetime lineup for a "Quebec Votes" elections special. The Good Doctor is timeshifted to 7pm, leaving out Fox's Resident and CBS's Magnum PI, which I assume will be either burned on saturday or not aired at all, redirecting viewers to "go online" which is ridiculous considering on the previous day, sunday Sept 30, after CBS's "God Friended Me" series premiere (not in simulcast!), CTV scheduled a Shark Tank filler at 9 and a Criminal Minds filler at 10. On tuesday Oct 2nd, after The Voice and This Is Us, well, TBBT fillers are still there at 10pm ! There's plenty of room for those 2 shows. And no usage of Ottawa's CTV2 CHRO.

Update: See below, both shows will air saturday night. In the end, CTV gets to keep their Big Bang and Criminal Minds reruns, and scrap the saturday cancon-quota filler movie for 2 american shows...

Why am I not surprised. It also means Murdoch and Frankie Drake will be bumped on CBC. This happened four and a half years ago with the season finale of Murdoch. Montreal had to wait a week if they didn't have internet or satellite.

Only in this case, I wonder when we'll get to see these two shows?

An early glance at the advanced listings from Zap2it indicates that CTV Montreal will be airing The Resident (post-FOX 10/1) on Saturday, October 6 at 8:00pm and Magnum, P.I. (post-CBS 10/1) at 9:00pm. So nothing is missed, other than either having to wait until five nights later to catch those shows or stream them online the following morning on Tuesday or sometime during the week.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is treated with the network premiere of another Hallmark movie that qualifies as CanCon (Darrow & Darrow: In the Key of Murder), and which I am sure will be replayed several times throughout the course of the season.

Based on recent history, primetime programming has been pre-empted on CTV Montreal primarily for scheduled live election coverage.

During the last provincial election for Quebec in April 2014, they bumped a new episode of MasterChef Canada to 7:00pm on the night of the election, and a new episode of The Following was pre-empted until Saturday 9:00pm. The scheduled episode of Castle at the time was a rerun, so nothing happened there.

As for the last federal election in October 2015, CTV in Ontario and Montreal pretty much scrapped their lineup starting from 7:00pm, shifting everything over to CTV Two. Viewers in markets carrying CTV Two (Atlantic region, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia) were able to watch the regularly scheduled primetime lineup with all new episodes, while those in Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario were left out. None of these episodes were ever rescheduled or timeshifted, so the only option was to wait until they became available online the following day.

I agree, that's clearly a waste of an oportunity - you figure CTV Montreal could have used some room to air these shows the night before in pre-release or even the night after the election. But no, it looks like those endless reruns of Criminal Minds and Big Bang Theory hold much more of a priority for the network at the expense of new, original programming that gets pre-empted, especially for markets that don't have the luxury of a secondary feed.

UPDATE #1: As expected, episode 2 of Magnum, P.I, scheduled for Monday, October 1 is pre-empted that evening and will air Saturday, September 6 at 9:00pm (following The Resident) on CTV Montréal (CFCF).
