    Shaw Direct Standard Definition channel drops

    Changes Apr 23 , 2019

    The following Standard Definition Channels drop today (04/23/2019) and will be available in High Definition only.

    ICI Montreal - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on F2
    RDS 2 - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on F2
    TVA Carleton - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    TVA Montreal - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on F2
    ARTV - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    RDS Info - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on F2
    Addik TV - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    UNIS East - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    Casa - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    TV5 East - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1
    V Gatineau - Std Def dropped - HD channel located on G1

    If the HD version is located on G1 and you are in a southern "province" you will lose access to the channel entirely OR if you have non MPEG4 compatible equipment.

    Ya there are gonna be doing more in the coming months with all SD Channels converting them all to HD. I have Shaw Direct and thankfully my reciever is MPEG4 Compatible. Just last year they replaced Vision TV SD to HD and it makes a difference.

    Yes a few conversions happening in May, the Stingray video channels and a couple others convert from Std Def to HD. The Std Def effectively being dropped in the process. Look for over 60 Std Def channels that are already available in HD, dropping in each month of July, August and September. Along with direct conversions of other Std Def Channels.

    Stingray Juicebox, Loud, Vibe, Retro have dropped in Standard Definition as of today replaced by the HD version.
