They put it out late, it was not there an hour ago ;)
Surprising for the 2 new shows. Godfather of Harlem is an Epix show that just finishing showing in the States, you would think they put it in their empty spots Thursday at 9pm. And Council of Dads starts in March, maybe they will announce it later, or they sold it to CTV which would have made sense for them to have it to begin with as it was meant as a midseason repalcement on NBC for This is us.
Maybe both for Spring?
It feels, empty. Mentally replacing all those "Mom" with "TBBT" will make you cringe.
First, we know ABC promoted Million Little Things to 10pm, releasing Mom in simsub with CBS at 9pm. Whose canadian broadcaster has Fox's Last Man Standing at 8pm? And nobody picked up NBC's Indebted starting Feb 6 at 9:30pm.
Fridays, Lincoln at 8pm during Blacklist's winter break bumps the movie by an hour, eliminating 2 Mom reruns. Good.
Tuesdays 10pm, ABC scheduled For Life after Emergence and CTV has both, Global has Amsterdam and the NCIS & FBI franchises... there's nothing here for City.
Sundays 10pm, same thing, Rookie on CTV, NCIS:NO on Global, Good Girls on Netflix... nobody picked NBC's Zoey, it's at 9pm but post-release? Hmmm, reading synopsis, it looks like it takes over where Crazy Ex left off...
We had a good run: 2006 to 2020. Thanks for the informations and debates.
With MacGyver back on Global and Outmatched (+ Housewife) on CTV, I binge-watched the first 3 episodes of NBC's Lincoln on Citytv to help decide if I should dump the sitcom(s).
Remember short-lived "Ironside" on NBC from fall 2013? That's what it felt like, a police genius who doesn't leave his home. But most of all, Brooke Lyons left a recurring role on "Magnum PI" for this other friday night death slot show?!?!
Unfortunately, the show uses a "terrorist of the week" formula while the storyline of the season (bone collector) puts main character's family members in weekly imminent danger. Nope. Pass.

Syfy announced today the start date of Canadian sci-fi series Vagrant Queen (refer to the "Citytv Announces Fall 2019 schedule" thread for details) for friday March 27 at 10pm. By that time, NBC's Lincoln will be done with its 10-eps run, so Citytv can afford to air it in simulcast AND keep their 2-hours hallmark/lifetime movie that night.
Also...
- NBC's Council of Dads premieres tues March 11 at 10pm for 3 weeks, then at 9pm starting March 31. From there, this will affect the simsub of ABC comedies Mixed-ish & Black-ish which could air in pre-release at 8pm (no idea if they're done with cancon Hudson & Rex).
- ABC's The Baker & the Beauty premieres mon April 13 at 10pm. Falls in place as NBC's Manifest will be done with its 13 episodes run the previous monday.
Still in the unknown column:
- Dead Still, (Canada/Ireland) set in 1880 (Murdoch? Is that you?)
- Epix's Godfather of Harlem.

Hudson & Rex received an order of 16 episodes for seasons 1 and 2.
Season 1 premiered last March with the first six episodes. Seven episodes then aired in the summer. The remaining three episodes from season 1 aired in the fall.
Season 2 episodes started airing in mid-October and continued through the end of November for seven episodes. With nine episodes remaining, it resumed in mid-January and is projected to wrap up on March 10, the same night that Council of Dads makes its premiere. As of March 17, they have a gap to fill for the 8pm timeslot, which could be used for airing the ABC sitcoms in pre-release once Council of Dads moves to 9pm by month’s end.
Safe to assume that Citytv will simsub Council of Dads in the 10pm timeslot for the first three weeks.
They also have room on Mondays to fill starting March 16 for four weeks, with The Bachelor ending. Not sure if Citytv has picked up the latest Bachelor spin-off Listen To Your Heart, which premieres on April 13. It won’t surprise me if they did. On that same night, both The Baker and the Beauty makes its series premiere on ABC and Songland returns for its second season on NBC.
Other notes:
A Million Little Things wraps up its second season on March 26, so one of the new shows can fill the Thursday 10pm timeslot (like Twilight Zone last spring and Four Weddings & a Funeral in the fall).
Little Big Shots returns with a sneak peek on February 24 at 10pm, then settles into its regular timeslot on Sunday, March 1 at 8pm. With The Simpsons and Duncanville filling those slots, Citytv will likely air LBS in pre-release at 7pm.
Both Godfather of Harlem and Vagrant Queen each have ten episodes. Dead Still has six episodes.

NBC just changed it's plan for Council of Dads. Now it will premiere March 24th at 10pm for one time showing there, then move on Thursday's staring April 30th at 8pm.
That will leave the ABC comedies in simulcast for Citytv.
Looks like they are going to show Bachelor Winter Games for 2 years ago Mondays at 8 until Bachelor Listen to Your hearts starts...I think they skipped it when it originally aired. And since the new Bachelorette for this summer was on it, makes sense?
Anyone know what the deal is on With Godfather of Harlem?
They finally put up a listing on their website, however they have also put up all episodes of season 1, available to be streamed- is this an online-only series now or is it going to air on Citytv at some point?!

Surprise today, I just saw that they scheduled both Catch-22 and Godfather of Harlem on Wednesdays starting this week May 6th. Catch-22 at 9pm and GoH at 10pm.
Way to go starting new shows without annoucning them at all...
Just spotted it in the TV Listings. At first sight, it looks like a Murdoch Mysteries clone set in Dublin. Just like Catch-22 and Godfather of Harlem, Citytv hasn't advertised the shows or issued a press release. Well, back in february, Rogers already decided to dump Murdo, I mean, Dead Still, in the friday night death slot at 10pm, which I presume catching the older-demo ratings from when Blue Bloods was initially supposed to end. Or they saw the produced episodes, no advertisers were interested so they told themselves "it sucks, let's burn it fridays".
Speaking of fridays, CTV is finally airing Carter S2 starting May 22nd at 9pm while Global will rerun Nurses at the same time.

Citytv app is still NOT Chromecast compatible. In 2020. What the HELL, Rogers?
I missed some episodes of Vagrant Queen. My fault. Well, kinda. Rogers changed the UHF frequency for its Montreal station CJNT-DT last month without any warning, as part of the 600 MHz repack, and I didn't rescan on my PVR software in time. I looked everywhere in the app, there's no option for casting. Feels like it's 2013-14.

And you still don't have access to their on demand when subscribing to Videotron. I understand the Bell Media situation, they can't stand each other, but Rogers ahs a good releationship with Videotron, they share a mobile network among other things. But they cannot get a deal for On Demand for City or FX...
I missed the first 15 minutes of episode 7, which on Citytv's website & app requires a login from a participating service provider and Videotron ain't one of them, so I had to Google and ended up with the Syfy version on an illegal streaming platform, watched the 1st segment, then resumed on my PVR. Episodes 8 and 9 weren't locked, I had to visit Citytv's website, pick the episode, and slide the window to my TV via HDMI cable, and volume on my receiver at 20. Closed captionning works, which is good, but with 5 commercial interruptions per hour (weren't caught by my AdBlock), it was the same 30-secs Budweiser commercial starting before a fade-to-black when you least expect it, and at full blast volume. Every time it happened I let out a "TABARNAK !!!!" and turned the volume down to 5 to turn it back to 20 after the auditive torture.
Thankfully I had episode 10 on my PVR and was happy to get back to normal. Commercials volume was CRTC mandated for TV but not for the web. Speaking of Citytv, most of the shows I binge-watched from the channel also cut off the fade-to-black and fade-in, sparing them 2-3 seconds, allowing Rogers to insert 10-15 more seconds of commercials/promos. My PVR fails sometimes to detect the commercial breaks and I have to open the remote app and skip the commercials (or get up from the couch and press the arrows on keyboard).
That's my adventure with Rogers Media. There's always something wrong with them.

The Citytv (website) cutoff of the fade-out and fade-in, at the commercial-segment sections has been going on for a long long time, so I just use an adblocker to get rid of the LOUD ads. However, even without the ads, it's still rather jarring to go from the end of the scene, no ads, and then an immediate resumption without at least 1/2 sec of fade-in. It's very poor management, and I don't recall seeing anything like it (and I've used so many different sites in my travels). I first started using adblockers for the CBC website many years ago because of some screaming-loud ads, and in fact, it was the poorly-run (at that time) CBC website (even the loud ads often caused the streams to crash, and then I'd have to start over again) that finally got me to use adblockers, and then I never looked back.
However, many streaming websites are getting smarter nowadays, so finding a working adblocker for every site isn't always easy. The smart sites (like NBC, Citytv) tend to block the most common or popular adblockers, and if you happen to have more than one adblocker on at a time, the blocked adblockers can actually stop the adblocker that would work on its own. Thus, to truly find a working adblocker for Citytv for example, you would need to make sure that only one adblocker extension is on at a time.
Plus, even with a working adblocker, sites like NBC often play the very first 15 sec. ad no matter what, and then the show starts, but to get the working adblocker to actually work, the page usually needs to be refreshed before or after the first ad break segment, and then when the show resumes, it usually skips the ads, or another refresh might be needed later on as well. Normally that wouldn't be a big problem, but now that NBC/Universal hides much of its sister-channel content behind a subscriber wall, I need to use the free credit system to get me in without any subscriber credentials. Each email (you can keep using different ones of course) gets 3 free credits, but if I refresh the NBC stream (accessed with 1 free credit) to avoid the ads, I would have to use yet another credit and start again. SYFY channel content like Vagrant Queen is on the NBC website (click the Networks heading at top of the NBC webpage to see all the other channels like SYFY, MSNBC, etc.) behind the provider credential, or free credit system (that I use occasionally), but from Canada, we also need to use a VPN or chrome extension to get around the USA-streaming restriction.
Many of these loopholes come and go, but thanks to piracy, once one loophole is pulled, another one eventually appears. It can be time-consuming to get around all the red tape that pops up in all the different places, but hopefully once I retire from my hobby/job in a few months, I can just stick with watching what I already have, and leave the searching for loopholes to the other obsessed freaks, like yours truly.

Warning: I'm not playing with a full deck.
Vagrant Queen is cancelled by Syfy.
