    This December Corus Kids Delivers A Stocking Full Of Holiday Programming

    (Toronto, Canada) This holiday season, Corus Kids is delivering a bundle of festive programming, with YTV, Treehouse and Discovery Kids offering viewers of all ages a slew of timeless classics such as A Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Burl Ives), as well as contemporary Christmas specials the entire family will enjoy.

    YTV DECEMBER 2008 HIGHLIGHTS

    NEW HOLIDAY SPECIALS ON YTV

    A MISER BROTHERSí CHRISTMAS

    In this animated holiday special, those two feuding sons of Mother Nature that we all grew up loving, Heat Miser and Snow Miser, are back at it again with their very own Christmas story in A Miser Brothersí Christmas. Viewers wonít want to miss the exclusive Canadian premiere on Monday, December 22 at 7 p.m. (r) Wednesday, December 24 at 5 p.m.

    NATIONAL LAMPOONíS CHRISTMAS VACATION 2: COUSIN EDDIE'S ISLAND ADVENTURE

    The famous National Lampoon's Vacation series returns, but this time, Cousin Eddie Tuttle (Randy Quaid) is taking over. After Eddie is bitten by a monkey at work and discovers he is being fired right before Christmas, his boss gives him a free vacation to an island in the South Pacific. When the Tuttle family winds up shipwrecked, itís up to Eddie to pull them together. Catch this comedy when it premieres on YTV Saturday, December 20 at 8:30 p.m.

    SANTA VS CLAUS

    Christmas is in trouble. Santa, who has been bitten by the Fame Bug, is now magically split from Claus, his conscience and Christmas Spirit. ĎFun, Fun Funí seems to be Santaís new purpose in life, which Claus strongly objects to. Into this volatile situation strides Vladimir Dragonoff, one of the richest men on earth, who convinces Santa to let him and his package delivery company take over the delivery of presents on Christmas. This new special premieres Saturday, December 20 at 2 p.m., (r) Thursday, December 25 at 2 p.m.

    BLAST FROM CHRISTMAS PAST

    Viewers can reflect on Christmases past with a variety of themed movies and specials during YTVís annual Blast From Christmas Past, hosted by ZAPXís Simon on Sunday, December 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    Highlights include: A Garfield Christmas Special at 6 p.m., ĎTis the Season to be Smurfy at 6:30 p.m., A Charlie Brown Christmas at 7 p.m., A Flintstone Family Christmas at 7:30 p.m., A Flintstone Christmas at 8 p.m., and Alfís Christmas Special at 9 p.m.

    A GARFIELD CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (1987)

    Garfield finds himself on an old-fashioned holiday at the family farm with Jonís mom, dad, brother and grandmother. The Emmyģ-nominated A Garfield Christmas Special airs Sunday, December 14 at 6 p.m. (r) Monday, December 15 at 5 p.m.

    A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS (1965)

    In A Charlie Brown Christmas, Lucy counsels a depressed Charlie Brown through the holiday season by directing the Christmas play. Charlie Brown sets out to find the perfect Christmas tree to decorate the stage, though his scruffy choice draws sneers from the other kids. But after some timely words from Linus, he does discover the real meaning of the holiday season. A Charlie Brown Christmas airs Sunday, December 14 at 7 p.m. (r) Monday, December 15 at 5:30 p.m. (r) Wednesday, December 17 at 7 p.m.

    A FLINTSTONE CHRISTMAS (1977)

    After Santa gets hurt falling from Fredís roof, Fred and Barney take over his duties for the evening, losing presents and making a last-minute trip to the North Pole for replacements. But will Fredís boss, the always-grumpy Mr. Slate, accept Fredís reason for being late to the company Christmas party? This one-hour special airs Sunday, December 14 at 8 p.m.

    RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER (1964)

    Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is a classic special featuring narration by Burl Ives. When the other reindeer shun Rudolph because of his unusual red nose, Rudolph perseveres by using his ultra-bright nose to help Santa Claus see through a violent storm. You loved it as a kid, now watch it again on Saturday, December 20 at 6 p.m. (r) Tuesday, December 23 at 7 p.m.

    ITíS NOT JUST ABOUT CHRISTMAS

    Christmas isnít the only holiday this time of the year Ė thatís why YTV is celebrating Hanukkah and Kwanzaa with festive programming that everyone can enjoy.

    RUGRATS CHANUKAH
    In Rugrats Chanukah, airing on Monday, December 22 at 6 p.m., during a celebration at a local synagogue, Tommy and Chuckie try to help Grandpa Boris settle a feud with Shlomo, a nemesis of Borisí from the Old Country.

    AS TOLD BY GINGER HANNUKAH
    In An Even Stevens Holiday Special, airing on Monday, December 22 at 6:30 p.m., when a family tree project reveals that Ginger is one quarter Jewish, she insists on celebrating Hanukkah as well as Christmas.

    RUGRATS KWANZAA
    In Rugrats Kwanzaa, airing Friday, December 26 at 12:30 p.m., when Great Aunt T comes to visit the Carmichaels she brings the makings for a Kwanzaa celebration to commemorate Africa's first harvest and honour the greatness of its people. But little Susie worries that she's not "great" like her older trophy-winning siblings, and thus unworthy of celebrating. Of course, Aunt T and the babies set her straight in this double-length episode.

    Be careful when reading posts. For exampl, these highlights date back to 2008. 2010's holiday scheduling should be available in late november.
