So Global Quebec is finally being added? Any idea what channel? I'm assuming it will be in the 200s...several posts on Digital Home list it being on channel 234, but not sure if that's offcial.

After all these years Global Quebec finally get's on Bell. It's a shame they didn't add them back when they had the popular Morning Live though.

Okay, so Channel 234 is now up and running, and is listed in electronic program guide as GLB-Q (Global Quebec).

I've tuned in but the feed is coming from Global Ontario. During commercial breaks, I even see community updates related to the GTA.

Also, the listings are not updated beyond 90 minutes - all it shows is "Info Not Available". Does this mean perhaps they'll only switch to the Global Quebec feed during the local evening newscasts?

They are still running the Global Ontario feed, I think this is just an error on Bell's part, the Global Quebec schedule is not the exact same as Global Ontario's, hopefully they fix it soon.

Before I decide to leave SHAW...I do hope they will include TCM

I do hope that Bell will make Turner Classic Movies available to their lineup in the future as well...along with AMC too...I'm still contimplating Ditching SHAW Direct for the way they keep making Great Channels Disappear off their Lineups...heres my RIP To them...

    RIP---2006 PunchMuch

RIP---2008 SunTv, Global Maritimes, CBC Regina, CITY TV Winnipeg, Ontario Legislature, Nascar Hotpass

RIP---2009 Buffalo's CBS, NBC, and ABC, TFO, TVLand, CourtTVCanada, BBC Kids and Discovery Kids

what will be their latest casualty?!!! Customers?!!!:p

Still not getting the Global Quebec feed. What's going on at Bell? Do they even have the feed or do they just want us to believe they do when in reality, they do not. I know it will probably come sooner than later, but it's already been two days and still, Global Ontario.

Another way of telling the difference between Quebec and Ontario is the bug at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

As far as I know, the Global bug for every station will include the name of the market in small capital letters. Only Global Ontario does not do that - it just simply says Global. And you're right. The Global Quebec schedule is considerably different outside primetime. I made a favorites list on my EPG with the two stations and in scrolling along, noticed the similarities and differences.

CKMI doesn't have "Morning Live" from 7am to 9am, so the HGTV-reno shows are shown during this period. Infomercials at 10am, Doc (cancon filler) at 11am, kitchen shows at 12pm instead of 11:30am. The rest of the day is identical to Toronto.

Not only is Global Quebec's entire morning schedule different from Global Ontario's but besides from local newscasts at 6:00PM & 11:00PM, Global Quebec airs programs like House and Home with Lynda Reeves at 6:30PM and WWE Raw Thursdays at 12:00AM.

BTW, Bell is STILL airing the Global Ontario feed on Global Quebec. How long will it take for them to fix that?

This is idiotic and stupid on many levels!

First, why aren't the English and French channels all together on one satellite?! They should have all these channels together, the ethnics & HD channels should be the only ones on the other satellite.

Second, why the need for extra hardware?! Who's brilliant idea was it to sell people only part of the equipment they need to recieve the service. Bell offers TV services off 2 satellites so customers should receive TWO LNB's with the dish they purchase from them NOT one! What kind of moronic scheme is this and then you wonder why so many people hate Bell?! I don't see Shaw Direct, DirecTV or Dish Network doing this so upon what logic does Bell base this on?? I can see if you needed an extra switch or a different one having to pay for it but not for another LNB that you need in order to have access to all the channels they offer. Looks like they got some top notch management at Bell TV ;)

Any chance someone out there wants to buy Bell TV and then hopefully replace all the 'competent' management staff?!

Needing "Additional Hardware" to view those channels is not exactly the case, only people with older satellites dishes can't get those channels, you need to make an hardware upgrade (since those channels are only on the new satellite) to view those channels if you have an old dish, but if you get a new dish you will get all those channels. It's not like Bell is selling a dish without those channels.

I have to say compared to everyone else Bell is great when it comes to the amount of channels, all those extra locals that Bell carries are not even carried on Shaw Direct. Even without those extra channels Bell still has more channels than Shaw Direct.

true very true! Global Quebec is working now, and I haven't head any details about KTLAtheCW HD yet. its suppose to be channel 841 or something like that. and also TVjunkie, Starchoice is receiving 2 satellites anikf 1 and 2. Dish Network get 110 119 for Dish 500. Dish 300 get 61.4 and so on. Directv i think is 71.1 for the DirecTV single LNB. For Bell it gets 82 91. 91 is I think for SD and 91 82 are both used to receive SD and HD channel. You need both if you wanna get US time shift networks. HD and HD time shift. thats all I have to say. haha VERY LONG MSG!
Canada lacks in HD. If you agree post this in your signature.

CANADA NEEDS HD. We have nothing!

The setups you listed are correct but those companies give you all the required hardware you require to receive their service, unlike Bell. I have seen numerous Bell dishes while driving around that only have one LNB attached to them which means you can only access one satellite (I believe their main satellite is 82?!) In order to access programming available on the other one you need another LNB. This is what I am referring to, Bell only sells you dishes with 1 LNB included not 2. I presume they do this so you have to pay extra for the other one- cash grab plain and simple, typical Bell.

For example, DirecTV has their international channels on a separate satellite which requires that you install a second dish if you want to subscribe to them. However, they do not charge you extra for the 2nd dish, its FREE. See the difference, they supply you with the equipment you require while Bell charges you extra for it.

That's not true, those are old dishes, they are not selling just one satellite anymore, If you went to go buy a dish from Bell today you would get both satellites. That's what Bell told me.

And like I said, most of those channels are not even included at all on Shaw Direct, atleast Bell carries them.
