In the south shore of Montreal area in 1976 before pay tv channels and converter boxes. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think this was the layout.
When the first converter boxes came out you could get WETK on the cable band [20,21,22] since the channel 6 feed had horrible ghosting being on the local CBC OTA channel along with CJOH 8 CTV Cornwall and WMTW 8 ABC Poland Spring ME. I believe we only paid 10 dollars a month for cable back then.

Worth noting here is that Montreal's Cable TV went on to become known as CF Cable TV from the 1980s up until 1997 when it was purchased by Videotron.

Would you happen to have a listing of old channel guides for CF Cable (pre-Videotron) from the 1980s and 1990s?

I was hoping you would since I needed to verify some positions - especially the local cable channels (like Infopub, PPV Previews, Tele Annonces). Things got a little more complex through the mid-1990s not only with the tiered package (TeleMax) but also with the addition of Canal Indigo.

TVOntario went on to be dropped in 1991 in favor of WCFE but was later reinstated in the 30s as a premium scrambled channel.

CBC Newsworld moved up to channel 36 replacing CHLT.
WMTW was also dropped in favor of A&E.

For the Videotron lineup in 1988, Encan Sablier on channel 18 became YTV in summer 1989 (nearly a year since its launch).

When it was moved to channel 36 in 1991, it remained on basic cable and not a premium scrambled service.
