    CBS Shuffles Schedule

This just isn't the season for medical dramas.

NBC's "Trauma" and CBS' "Three Rivers" have fallen short in the ratings and NBC's "Mercy" has struggled on Wednesdays, and now CBS has elected to slot Jerry Bruckheimer's new midseason drama "Miami Medical" on tough-crowd Friday nights.

Also, CBS will push Monday weak-link comedy "Accidentally on Purpose" to Wednesdays, while bringing relief pitcher "Rules of Engagement" back into the game.

"Medical" is about a team of young Florida surgeons who "thrive on the adrenaline rush of working at one of the premiere trauma facilities in the country while drawing upon their wit and irreverence to survive on the edge."

The drama will premiere April 2 at 10 p.m., taking over for "Numbers," which will have completed its season order. "Rules" returns March 1, with "Accidentally" making its Wednesday debut on March 31.

How many new shows does Jerry Bruckheimer come out with a year anyway? This has got to be the 3rd or 4th since last summer.

I was surprised that they didn't put Flashpoint on Fridays at 10:00 this spring.

It would appear that by then, Friday nights on CTV will be all CBS dramas running in simulcast - Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Miami Medical.

I assume that CTV has picked up the show and was just leaving it on the shelf without notice. Though CTV never listed it as a midseason replacement in their press release back when they announced the fall schedule, it was reported as one of their acquisitions from the Hollywood screenings.

This would leave Global with a different show scheduled for Fridays at 10:00pm for the first time since fall 2005, when NUMB3RS joined the schedule and has remained there ever since.

I guess this will answer your question:

EXCLUSIVE: BRUCKHEIMER ADDS "THE WHOLE TRUTH" TO DEVELOPMENT SLATE
    By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Jerry Bruckheimer has eight shows on television and he's hoping to add three more.

Jerry Bruckheimer Television chief Jonathan Littman broke down the trio - which are the focus of their 2010-2011 development slate - for me at the TCA Winter Press Tour:

-- At NBC the company has "Chase," from "Cold Case" executive producer Jennifer Johnson, about a fugitive recovery squad. "[It's] a really high adrenaline, set in the west, show. It's great."

-- Over at ABC there's "Hopscotch," a high-concept crime drama. "[It] focuses on the five most compelling days in a murder investigation," Littman explained. Chris Levinson ("Law & Order") penned the hour.

-- Also at the Alphabet is the newly revealed "The Whole Truth." "[It's] a legal drama that is focused on showing evenly both the defense and the prosecution as they build and try a case. [It's] a very character driven drama that focuses on a prosecutor and a defense attorney." Tom Donaghy ("Without a Trace") is the writer.

All three are set up at Warner Bros. Television where Bruckheimer has an overall deal. Bruckheimer and Littman then will executive produce with the company's KristieAnne Reed also serving as a co-executive producer.
