I really enjoy Teletoon Retro alot...nice to enjoy all the Cartoons I grew up to love like the Flintstones, Bugs Bunny, Captain Caveman and especially Spiderman!!! It's great to have a channel like Teletoon Retro to enjoy the Kind of Cartoons I once enjoyed...now Teletoon Retro, how about The Wonderful Stories of Professor Kitzel, Roger Ramjet, Atom Ant, Garfield and Friends, Charlie Brown, Heathcliff and Marmaduke and 2 Marionette shows Captain Sacrlett and Thunderbirds?!!!
i would like to see underdog:)
Canada lacks in HD. If you agree post this in your signature.
CANADA NEEDS HD. We have nothing!
Patience my friend, I am sure some of those might eventually show up on Teletoon Retro if there is enough demand. Look at The Smurfs, one of the most requested shows (from what I read) and it is now part of their lineup. They appear to be listening to viewers and what they want (as they should since this is a subscription channel), so if lots of people request a certain show, chances are it will be added at some point. I want to know why they don't air any Disney shows, would be nice to see DuckTales, TaleSpin or The Gummi Bears.
I am pleasantly surprised by this channel, it took them forever to launch it but now they have put together a pretty good lineup of shows. I could do without the commercials but I guess if they are required to keep the channel on the air then I can find a way to live with them. I would like to see some of the shows TVO used to air, it was cheap cancon but I was just a boy and enjoyed watching them. I am talking shows like Today's Special & Read All About It.

Astral likely has the rights tied up for all Disney material for Family Channel and Playhouse Disney, keep in mind that Toon Disney exists down south and you don't see any Disney materials on Cartoon Network or Boomerang.
Astral should consider launching a Toon Disney here since there is tons of material for it, or request it be imported to supplement Family and Playhouse Disney since they'd likely have some issues having enough Cancon to fulfill quotas.
Interesting,
Forgot about the Astral-Disney connection although I don't see any point of them having the rights to these shows, where would they air them?! Toon Disney does not exist any longer, it is now called Disney XD and they have re-branded all the Toon Disney channels around the world as Disney XD as well. Its basically a channel aimed at boys which is what Toon Disney had slowly morphed into before they re-branded it. It hardly aired any 'classic' Disney shows towards the end.
I would rather see these shows on Teletoon Retro, the last thing we need is another CDN clone of a US channel. They would just air the same CDN content on Toon Disney as the do on their other channels so no thanks!
Actually, now that I think about it I wonder if Astral has an exclusive in Canada with Disney programming, considering that TMN airs Disney studios movies while Movie Central does not. This of course is a big disparity between the two services since it means fewer family oriented movies are airing on MC in comparison and of course it means the western subscribers are essentially getting a lesser premium service.
Yes...I miss the Old TVO Shows as well...Fables of the Green Forest(That Peter rabbit Hippity Hop...the mean Old Weasel Growls...Grampa Frog hippity Hop...they made it to the Top)!!! I remembered that shows Opening...another nice one to see brought back...it too would be nice to see Toon Disney being brought to Canada as well!!!

Just received an e-mail from teletoon saying that they will not showing any movies on sunday night. The lady even wrote to me saying that the information on wikipedia have been incorrect.
The wikipedia page of Teletoon Retro was semi-blocked due to vandalism. I also written them last month.
The best thing to know if some informations are fake is thinkin how revenues the distributors can have. It will be hard to acquired them all yet it costs lots of money.
according to the teletoon retro website schedule, there is going to be a marathon of thunder cat on sunday april 4, 2010 starting @ 6pm until monday april 5, 2010 @ 6 pm. After the 5th, its going to be regular programs.
I though that i should post it in case they are some fan of thunder cat in this forum.
I wish they could do a marathon of the flintstones....:D
I know that since 1 month. It was announced by a member and Teletoon employee on Toonzone. Tough i wish they can showed the Harveytoons cartoons library. (I will doubt they do that, they are too obscure for today's mainstream.)
You know, as a kid, they showed the Flintstones like everydays at noon during many years in the same channel (The old TQS), but since TVA and Prise 2 (And even our Teletoon Retro) having the rights of this series, i started to considered this like as a sure value and not a good entertainment. You can just count the numbers of repeats of each of the 166 episodes during 10 years for knowing that.
..THE FALL should be bringing some new/old show's......HERE'S HOPIN'....raccoon's gotta go...fraggle...gotta go...BUGS SORRY...but the repeat's are killin moi....
but KEEP THE FLINSTONE'S ,TOP CAT ,BATMAN TAS,JETSON'S,HUCK,YOGI(OLD ONLY).....
OUTT..
JAS
I will be agree that they should removed Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show but the problem is it's the only Retro show who was shown too on the main Teletoon and act like chef of the gang.
Trust me, Boomerang is now worse than Teletoon Retro is. When the Retro channel can take times to air a single episode of your favourite series, (As the HB and Action shows) Boomerang seems to be made at a computer rather to a person because they varied rarely their line-up and being a CN 2 from many US peoples. (They change constantly but more to make spaces to old Turner repeats and no cares to variety.)
It will be great to see Ovide's Gang, Wacky Races and the Tex Avery cartoons in air and removed the Filmation Batman cartoon.
In the same order idea, it should bring back Woody Woodpecker (It was a favourite of my childhood) and Rocket Robin Hood. Their songs is really catchy and also memorable than with the old Spider-Man.
i do also hope they'll bring back woodywoodpecker. but i also like the smurfs. Sometimesi watch it and can't remember of seen certain of episode. I guess it must of been too long when we seen it.
according to boomerang us, i don't like their schedule, it is worst. Our canadian version is better!!!
...information Will Be Available Next Week...
Will Let Ya Know Then..
:)
