NBC is at it again, they are in the process of creating a remake of another classic TV series, this time around its 70's detective series 'The Rockford Files'.

Thus far the series has been 'ordered to pilot' which means they will shoot a pilot episode and if NBC execs are happy with it then the green light will be given for a full series. Dermot Mulroney has been cast in the title role as James Rockford. Also, Steve Carell (The Office, 40yr old Virigin) has signed on as an executive producer.

These guys don't learn do they, the last two series they remade (Bionic Woman & Knight Rider) flopped and were subsequently cancelled. This show is a little older and I don't think will resonate with younger viewers who are probably not familiar with it and will probably meet the same fate. Enough with these remakes, can't these guys come up with a new ideas anymore??
