Discovery HD Gripe

Ok, sitting here watching one of those NHK HD wildlife things (the one about the lion kings) .. so, a commercial break comes on .. about 3-4 minutes long .. back to the show .. while watching the segment it seemed rather short and we're back to commercials. So I rewound on the PVR, grabbed the stopwatch and timed the segment. Get this .. 3mins 22seconds of show before the next ad break.

WTF is that about? Sorry but that is a bit much, I used to enjoy Discovery HD but these days it is overloaded with ad breaks. It sure ain't no HD Theater like they have in the US where there are limited if any breaks at all beyond station promos.

Yep, you should be used to Canada getting the short end of the stick by now. It sucks but no amount of complaining will change it.

I doubt it will get worse with the rebranding it will get better.

Perhaps one of these decades we will get Animal Planet, Science, Space and the daily planet discovery channel in HD.

Canada always gets the short end of the stick .. No HD . great ... might as well just purchase a DN subscription. all we need is a PO box and a US credit card and we are set
