    Radio-Canada Quebec City will shut down it's VHF ch 12 transmitter on December 14.

    Global upgraded their transmitters from analog to digital in the following cities: Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, Sarnia, Owen Sound and Peterborough.

    CHAT TV HD Medicine Hat is now available on local Shaw cable and Telus Optik tv. OTA will be available in the next 18 months according to their web site.

    CFJC TV Kamloops & CKPG TV Prince George have also launched in HD, just checked out their websites. This leaves only the Corus stations (CKWS & CHEX) as well as CJBN that have yet to go HD.

    CHEX is a bit of a mix one, The main CHEX station brodcasts in HD on Rogers and OTA from its main transmitter, but CHEX-TV-2, essentially its own stations that relines on CHEX-DT is not broadcasting in HD yet OTA.

    61 years ago, on September 6th 1952, CBFT (Radio-Canada Montreal) was the first canadian TV station to launch with regular programming, followed 2 days later by CBLT (CBC Toronto).
