Global upgraded their transmitters from analog to digital in the following cities: Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, Sarnia, Owen Sound and Peterborough.

CHAT TV HD Medicine Hat is now available on local Shaw cable and Telus Optik tv. OTA will be available in the next 18 months according to their web site.

CHEX and CKWS have HD signals as well.CFJC TV Kamloops & CKPG TV Prince George have also launched in HD, just checked out their websites. This leaves only the Corus stations (CKWS & CHEX) as well as CJBN that have yet to go HD.

61 years ago, on September 6th 1952, CBFT (Radio-Canada Montreal) was the first canadian TV station to launch with regular programming, followed 2 days later by CBLT (CBC Toronto).
