    New forum

    Hi everyone,

It's finally here! Welcome to our new forum! Viewers.ca is now the Channel Canada Forums and is now located at http://www.channelcanada.com/discuss.

I hope you like the new layout!

    New features:
    • What's new/Activity stream presents all the changes made to the forum (new posts, replies, etc). You can also filter what you wan't to see.
    • Right side block presents new forum threads, new forum posts and Cloud tag. The whole block section is collapsible if this doesn't interests you.
    • Less intrusive ads for logged in members (banner on top and bottom of page vs Banner on top and ads on first and last post on previous forum setup.

In the meantime, feel free to play around and please let me know if you encounter any problems with the new setup.

I have also made the following changes:
    • Removed the temporary forum for the Olympics (all posts were moved to the Sports forum)
    • CTV and CTV Two press releases forum was deleted and all post there were moved to the CTV and CTV Two forum. The forum was intended for posting press releases but discussion was also happening there on top of the regulat CTV and CTV Two forums. In other words, people were not using it as advertised so I didn't see any point in keeping it. Press releases still have to have either the PR icon or the [PR] prefix in the subject line.
    • Rants and Raves was moved to the Genetal TV Discussion forums (it was in the General forums)

If you have trouble loggin in or having some other problem that prevents you from sending me a PM, you can email me directly at rad@channelcanada.com

Congrats on the new launch Randi!

I love the new look of the forum, although its going to take a bit of time to get used to since I had become accustomed to the old forum. :adoration: I noticed that a lot of the text with this new skin is bolded, its a bit distracting but over time I will probably become accustomed to it.

Here's to many more great discussions!

    Thanks!

BTW, for those who don't like the new theme, go to the bottom of the page where there's a select box with "Channel Canada Default Style". Click on it and select "vb4 Default style" for an alternate styling of the forum. There's also a fixed width version of the current theme for those interested. Finally, there's also a theme for mobile that should kick in when you access the forum through your mobile.

I started a new thread in the specialty section and it's not showing up.

However it can be found in the search for all threads started by TVViewer

Yup, I noticed a problem with the browser cache. You have to Refresh everytime to get the latest version.

I snooped around and I think I've found the problem and both problems seem to be related. I'm no longer experiencing the login problem, can you confirm if it's working on your end?

    Browser cache problem fixed.
I'm not sure if it's a global or a per-account setting, but around 15-30 minutes after you visit the forum, all unread threads are automatically marked as read. I would like to disable this feature, so that if I'm running out of time, the threads I haven't read will still be "unread".

Also, the forum is loading slow since yesterday morning :(
